Meet the Staff of Uffizi Order
Rich came to Santa Barbara to study at UCSB. In addition to significant involvement in InterVarsity, Rich studied religious studies at UCSB. After his experience at Urbana ’09, he shifted his focus to missionary work within the states. He pursued studies at Fuller Theological Seminary and decided to explore non-traditional models of gathering and ministry. Drawing from orthodoxy, Rich determined to seek alternative structures of missional lifestyles and mature “ecclesia." Rich joined the Free Methodist family in 2012 and began missional work on the Westside in 2013. In May 2016, Rich was appointed lead pastor of Pueblo Free Methodist, a community focused on racial reconciliation and social justice. His deepest ambition is that he would learn to love, and love well.
Jim is British, which perhaps explains his occasional difficulties with the American language. He spent 7 years in Singapore as a young child before returning to England for school and then law studies at Cambridge University. He worked for a major international law firm for six years, three in London and three in Dubai, before taking a degree in cross cultural and Biblical theology in England. In 1993 Jim went to Cairo, spent two years studying Arabic full time, and then worked for an Egyptian corporate law practice for ten years. During this time he met and married Heather. In 2006 he co-founded a law firm in Cairo, and experienced the January 2011 revolution, before he and Heather took up positions at Westmont College in Santa Barbara as co-directors of the new Westmont in Istanbul semester abroad program. Jim is currently half way through the Spiritual Formation course of the Renovare Institute. You may therefore need to patient with him until he completes the course.
Jeff lives in Buellton with his wife Julia and three children – Kairos, Kennah, and Kalum. He has worked in Santa Barbara since 1992 and founded the Uffizi Mission Project under Christian Associates in 2005. Uffizi has since become the Uffizi Order and he is currently the Director of Missional Initiatives. He is also involved with Common Ground Santa Barbara County and is the Coordinator of C3H – The Central Coast Collaborative on Homelessness.
